I’ve just spent a wonderful week with Sira and the cats and it has completely exceeded all my expectations.

I loved the routine of structured lessons in the morning either at home or in a café or in the mountains, followed by an activity involving some language practice and then a relaxed dinner with more chat. She cooks lovely home-made meals with excellent fresh ingredients – I felt very well fed all week. Sira has great friends who joined us for dinner twice, which allowed me to follow the conversation and join in with my attempts. Although Sira goes to bed relatively early, there is no problem with staying on the lovely terrace to enjoy the cooler air as the stars come out.
I hadn’t really done anything with the Italian I’d learned at school, for several decades; Sira is very gifted at listening and noting where your errors are and incorporating them into next day’s lessons. She’s endlessly patient and steps in to correct just enough so that your confidence for speaking remains in place. For that reason Sira’s homestays get booked up quickly so if you’re thinking about it, I would say do it soon!
